Emraan Hashmi‘s next film Captain Nawab, which he’s producing as well was announced back in August last year. The actor’s first production will see him play the role of a soldier in the film.

Even though he has essayed the role of a cop in movies like Ungli (2014) and Zeher (2005), this will be the first time he’ll play the role of an army man. And for this purpose, he will undergo special training.

While speaking to a leading daily, director Anthony D’Souza said, “The film is about a spy, who lands in the Pakistani army. It’s an action film, but at the core, it’s an anti-war movie. It falls in the spy thriller genre, but we are trying to make a film that appeals to a wide audience. Since it is Emraan’s first production, he is involved in most aspects, including costing and scripting.”

For the film, Emraan is to undergo special training with the Indian Army to learn their ways: “He is to train with members of the Indian Army to get the mannerisms and use of arms right. He will also be taking lessons in Urdu to come across convincingly as a character from Pakistan.
