Sasi takes control, sacks OPS, senior leaders from AIADMK for anti-party activities

Chennai: In a bid to quell rebellion and to take a firm control of the Party leadership, AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala today expelled caretaker Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, senior leaders and all office-bearers supporting him, from the primary membership of the party for alleged anti-party activities.

A couple of hours after the Supreme Court convicted her in the DA case, dashing her hopes of becoming the Chief Minister, Sasikala, in a statement here, said a total of 20 AIADMK functionaries, including School Education Minister Ma Foi Pandiarajan and former Ministers like C Ponnaiyan, K P Munusamy and Natham R Viswanathan, former Assembly Speaker P H Pandian his son and former Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Pandian, were expelled from the party, for violating the party principles and for acting in a manner that brought disrepute to the party.
