Arvind Kejriwal calls PM Modi ‘shameless dictator’ as IT dept asks EC to cancel AAP’s status
New Delhi: In yet another attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called him a ‘shameless dictator’. This came after the Income Tax department directed the Election Commission to cancel the status of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.
Just two days before Assembly elections in Goa and Punjab, the IT department asked the Election Commission cancel AAP’s status as a political party for allegedly filing ‘false and fabricated’ reports on its donations.
A report in the Hindustan Times stated that the records of donation quoted amount to Rs 27 crore, according to sources. The I-T department said that the audit reports were filed in 2013-14 and 2014-15. It says that the “the registration of AAP as a trust and as a party could be revisited and cancelled”.
Kejriwal has dragged the Prime Minister in the issue and said that the Modi government is doing it as it ‘fears that AAP may win in Punjab and Goa’. “Modiji dirty tricks. Losing badly in Goa n Punjab, he tries to de-register the winning party 24 hrs before elections. Shameless dictator,” the Delhi CM tweeted.
