Akhilesh Yadav has my blessings, SP will always stand by Muslims: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Lucknow: Days after the Election Commission recognised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav led faction as the National President of the Samajwadi Party and allotted the party symbol of cycle to them, his father Mulayam Singh Yadav said everything is fine now in the party. Mulayam Singh Yadav extended his full support to Akhilesh Yadav, adding that he will actively participate in campaign for Samajwadi Party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017.

Mulayam Singh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indulging in divisive politics, saying Samajwadi Party will always stand by Muslims.

Mulayam Singh Yadav criticised the demonetisation drive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying only the poor have been troubled by it. In an interview with the Economic Times, the Samajwadi Party founder said the BJP is trying to make an environment of fear for political gain.

The 77-year old leader said the BJP has abandoned Deendayal Upadhyaya and Congress Mahatma Gandhi.
