Private unaided schools that are built on public land are notified not to start the admission process till further notification (check list of schools here)

Schools to hold a three day window for clarification of the method of selection and the point system.

Schools are required to hold the draw of lots (if necessary) only in presence of all the parents who are participating in that lot; the same must be recorded and all slips must be shown to parents before finalizing.

Schools are required to hold 25 percent seats for the EWS category, the remaining open seats are to be open for admission process.

Age limit for nursery admissions has been set by the DoE to be 3 years till 31 March 2017 for Nursery Admission 2017.

Point system has to conform to the Delhi High Court Order
DoE has also directed that the minimum number of entry level (nursery) seats cannot be less than the maximum number of entry level seats in that school in the previous three years.

Also, parents must note that as per the circular, schools who have opened a pre-nursery school or Montessori/play school must conform to the above rules as the two schools are considered as one institutions. This implies that parents need not pay more than 25 rupees for filling the application/registration forms for even the playschools run by main stream institutions.

A complete list of criteria as disapproved by the Delhi High Court is available. Parents are advised to kindly go through the same before filling the application form. Also, parents must note that no school can ask for a donation for admission process.

In case of any such capitation fee/ donation demand, the school would be liable to pay a penalty which can be ten times the donation fee charged. We request all the parents to be cautious about their rights, be vigilant about the norms and most importantly be patient about the admissions.
