Rupee strengthens against US dollar

Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Friday strengthened against the US dollar in mid-day trade, tracking the gains in local equity markets.

At 2.10pm, the rupee was trading at 67.84 per US dollar, up 0.21% from its previous close of 67.99. The home currency opened at 67.92 against the US dollar and touched a high and a low of 67.82 and 67.94, respectively. So far this year, it has fallen 2.3%.
