Rupee closes near two-week low against US dollar

Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Monday closed two week low against the US dollar after local equity markets closed lower for the fourth consecutive sessions.

The rupee closed at 67.88 per US dollar—a level last seen on 6 December, down 0.15% from its previous close of 67.77. The home currency opened at 67.81 a dollar and touched a high and a low of 67.71 and 67.88 respectively. So far this year, it has fallen 2.6%.
