NEW DELHI: Following the directives of Union Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar to encourage cashless payment, CBSE has told all affiliated schools to start collecting fee through online modes from January 1, 2017.

In a letter, CBSE secretary Joseph Emmanuel has directed the principals to introduce cashless ways for fees collection only through online.

Similarly, the CBSE has directed principals to disburse salary to its staff through bank transfers. “Schools may interact with the parents during the parents teachers meeting to spread awareness about the benefits of non-cash transactions and motivate students of senior classes to undertake promotional initiatives in their neighbourhood to promote cashless transactions,” said the circular.

At present, most schools offer non-cash modes for fee payment.
