Mumbai Airport to shut down for 5 hours today, 2000 flights to be affected at CSIA

Mumbai: Flights scheduled to be arrived and departed are likely to be delayed as the Mumbai Airport will be shut for five hours today. In order to carry out runway maintenance work, authorities will close the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) for five hours between noon and 5PM.

Due to this, some flights will be delayed or cancelled. All the airlines and pilots have been already informed about the Mumbai Airport shutdown in advance. More than 2000 flights are likely to be affected due to the closure of runways at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA).

Runway maintenance work was launched at Mumbai Airport on October 18. The operation will end by the last week of November. The runway at the Mumbai Airport will be closed in the afternoon during the mentioned period as the authorities will carry out work on preservation of runway surface.

Airline operations will remain shut for five hours between noon and 5 pm on November 3,7,10,14,17,21,24 and 28. More than 200 flights are expected to be hit daily because of the shutdown. A total of over 2000 flights, most of them domestic, are expected to be hit due to the closure on the above dates.
