Woman engineer burnt alive in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur: In a shocking incident, a woman junior engineer was tied to a chair and burnt alive in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.

According to reports, the victim, Sarita Kumari, was posted as a junior engineer in MGNREGA in Murol Block.

Victim’s slippers, clothes, bones and ashes were recovered at the site where the crime reportedly took place. She was identified by her mother and son on the basis of her clippers and clothes.

“The victim seems to have been murdered somewhere else but brought here for burning her dead body,” a police official said.
The victim was reportedly living separately from her husband in a rented house in Bajrang Bihar colony.

The crime was reported on Monday morning by victim’s landlord Vijay Gupta. “I knew the victim. She used to complete her office work at her home. She used to keep one of the keys with her. When I opened the door in the morning, I came to know about it and informed the police immediately,” said Gupta.
