speeds up shifting department offices to new locations in Telangana

Hyderabad: The State government’s proposal to construct new buildings in the existing secretariat has picked up the pace as several departments have been asked to shift their offices to other locations at the earliest.

State Irrigation Department has been asked to make necessary arrangements for the establishment of Ministers chambers and Secretariat staff at its head office Jala Soudha in the city.

The Roads and Building, Energy, Municipal Administration, Forest and Welfare departments have also been instructed to create office space for their respective Minister ‘peshis’ and also secretariat  staff in the Head of the Department (HoD) offices in the city.
Officials said that Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minster Mahmud Ali’s office would be shifted to CCLA (Chief Commissioner Land Administration) building at Nampally.

The Secretariat staff of the BC Welfare and ST Welfare would be sent to Damodaram Sanjivayya Sankshema Bhavan. Burgula Ramakrishna Bhavan located near the Secretariat would house the offices of Finance,  Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Information & Public Relations departments.

Sources said that the CMO officials would start functioning from the new Camp Office which is to be inaugurated in November.

The government is also scouting for suitable locations to shift General Administration, IT, Planning,  Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Housing, School Education and Labour and Employment.

A final decision on shifting these offices to suitable locations would be taken in a week. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma has already instructed all the departments to find office spaces.
