Govt offering MSP for maize, paddy: Harish

Hyderabad: The State government is offering Minimum Support Price (MSP) for maize and paddy to keep farmers happy, according to Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao.

The Minister was inaugurating a maize purchase center at Siddannapet market yard in Nanganur mandal in Siddipet district.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said an MSP of Rs 1,265 per quintal for Maize and Rs 1,510 per quintal for paddy were being offered to protect the interests of the farmers.

MPs and other people’s representatives will launch similar purchase centers at the market yards in all the constituencies to enable farmers sell their produce at MSP, Harish said.

He appealed to the farmers to make use of the Rythu Bandhu scheme being implemented in the State.
