GHMC to hike development charges by 25% on properties

Hyderabad: The GHMC has decided to revise the rates of development charges for land and built-up areas in residential and non-residential areas in the city limits.

The Corporation officials said that it had become a herculean task to maintain city infrastructure with the current development charges and decided to revise it.

According to officials, the last revision was done seven years back and now this would help the Corporation to mop up about Rs 70 crore.

It has decided to increase Rs 75 per sqm (for land) and Rs 100 per sqm (for built up area) in residential areas and Rs 100 per sqm (for land) and Rs 125 per sqm (for built up area) in non-residential areas.
