Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Tuesday weakened against the US dollar as a surprise spike in retail inflation spurred concerns that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may wait for some more time to cut interest rates. Fall in global markets ahead of the US Federal Reserve meeting and the UK referendum also dampened sentiment.

The home currency closed at 67.27, down 0.19% from its previous close of 67.14. The currency touched a low of 67.29 and high of 67.11, respectively, in intraday trade.
