Maha BJP minister Eknath Khadse’s number in Dawood Ibrahim’s call logs; AAP demands resignation

Aam Aadmi Party leader Preeti Sharma Menon has called for Maharashtra cabinet minister Eknath Khadse resignation after reports emerged that he has been in touch with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim who is believed to be living in Pakistan. Based on the information revealed by ethical hacker Manish Bhangale, India Today had reported that several calls were made from Dawood’s phone to a number that is registered in Khadse name.

According to India Today, the Maharashtra government has ordered a probe to figure out whether calls were made from the number registered at the gangster’s residence in Karachi. Khadse, while accepting it was his number says he never spoke to the gangster or to his family members.

In a series of tweets, AAP’s Preeti Sharma Menon attacked Khadse, saying he had to reisgn.

She said: “Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse’s number seen in Dawood Ibrahim’s call logs. Its shocking. Minister Eknath Khadse has to resign, otherwise a free and fair investigation cannot take place.”

Khadse has agreed to the fact that the number shown in Dawood’s call logs are indeed related to him. But the minister has denied speaking to the don. “I don’t know why my numbers are showing there. But I have never spoken to him. The truth will be revealed after the investigation,” he said.
