Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Monday closed marginally weaker against the US dollar on concerns that the delay in monsoon and weak macroeconomic data could dampen the prospects of further rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The home currency closed at 66.81, down 0.05% from its previous close of 66.77. The rupee opened at 66.89 a dollar and touched a low of 66.92, a level last seen on 23 March.
