Rupee trades lower at 66.84 against US dollar

Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Wednesday weakened against the US dollar, after local equity markets fell 1% in pre-opening trade on India-Mauritius tax issue.

At 9.12am, the home currency was trading at 66.84, down 0.23% from its previous close of 66.68. The rupee opened at 66.83 a dollar and touched a low of 66.84, a level last seen on 26 April.
