Hyderabad race course to be shifted to a new place, says KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhkar Rao also disclosed that the Chanchalguda Central Jail located in the heart of the city would be shifted adjacent to the Cherlapally Jail where 170 acres of government land is available.

The Hyderabad race course would also be moved to a new place.
“We can utilise these prime lands for educational and other purpo-ses,” Mr Rao said, add-ing foundation stones for the same would also be laid after civic polls.

He was speaking at an e-poll campaign (press conference) organised by TRS in connection with GHMC polls at Telangana Bhavan.

To another question, he said twin towers wo-uld also be constructed in the premises of Osm-ania General Hospital to provide better medic-are to people in place of the age old structures.

He was reacting to a question as to why he backtracked on the pro-mise to clean Hussainsagar Lake, shifting of the Secretariat, OGH, Chanchalguda  Jail and Race course.

Stating that Austria’s help will be taken for developmental works in Hyderabad including cleaning of Hussainsagar Lake, he said about Rs 30,000 crore was required for remodelling of drainage system in  the twin cities.
