Building collapses in Thane, 11 killed, many trapped; rescue ops on

Mumbai: A 50-year-old three-storey Thane building collapsed on Tuesday morning in Naupada area killing 11 people, while several are feared trapped in the debris.

The fire brigade has rushed to the spot and the rubble is being cleared at the site. The rescue operations are carried on by NDRF teams.

The incident happened on the intervening night of August 4-5 at 2.45 AM. Thane Municipal Corporation had already issued a warning regarding the building.
