Hyderabad: The meticulous execution of the plan by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to win a fifth seat for the TRS by getting support of Opposition MLAs in Monday’s MLC polls has left the party overjoyed.
On Saturday, Kukatpally TD legislator M. Krishna Rao joined the TRS, and on Sunday, the YSRC decided to back the TRS nominees. Telangana YSRC leader and Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in a statement issued on Sunday said,  “We cannot support the TD or the Congress, we want to teach them a lesson. That is why we have decided to support TRS nominees.”
In a related development, the TRS organised its second mock polling at Telangana Bhavan. This exercise was attended by Mr Rao who declared that TRS nominees were set to win the polls.
There is stiff competition between the Congress and the TD for the sixth seat.
