Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a session with a select group of ministers on Friday at his camp office to chalk out a road map for GHMC elections. This meeting assumes importance since the High Court has asked the State government to come up with a suitable date for conducting elections to the GHMC.

KCR, it is leant, has suggested that a core group be created with T Harish Rao as the strategist to ensure absolute majority for TRS. But interestingly, Harish Rao was not there in the meeting. Similarly, another city minister Naini Narasimha Reddy was also not part of the meeting. Those who attended the meeting included Deputy Chief Ministers, Mahmood Ali and Kadiam Srihari, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, T Padma Rao Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao.

To reach out to the voters in Andhra pockets in twin cities, KCR is said to have asked Tummala to lead the team for campaign in all the areas of twin cities where voters from Andhra Pradesh are in large numbers. KCR feels that since Tummala has good rapport with Seemandhra people, it would help the party in garnering their support. The TRS has suffered a setback in the MLC election for graduates’ constituency where the Seemandhra people did not vote for the pink party.

It is learnt that Chandrashekar Rao had asked the ministers from the city  Mahmood Ali, Padma Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav  that they should work as a team. He cautioned them not to go about with their job independently. He suggested the city leadership to identify candidates with a strong influence and those who enjoy popularity among masses.
