Lucknow  The two MLAs – BJP’s Bajrang Bahadur Singh and BSP’s Uma Shankar Singh have been disqualified from Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Lokayukta recommendation, the Raj Bhawan today reported.

Lokayukta Justice (rtd) N.K. Mehrotra had recommended the disqualification of the two MLAs for violating the provisions of the Representation of The People Act . Raj Bhawan had sought opinion and view of the Election Commission which is learnt to have conveyed its point of view to the governor.

Earlier Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik had given some more time to the two MLAs facing disqualification on the Lokayukta’s recommendation. Both the MLAs were pleading that the Lokayukta had done injustice to them by recommending their disqualification from assembly for grabbing government contracts despite being members of the house.
