New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused Pakistan of aiding and abetting terrorism, adding that the Islamic Republic was unable to change its ‘mindset’ even after the deadly attack on a Peshawar school last month, which had left 142 people dead.

“The recent events of ceasefire violations on the border [just] reconfirm our stand that the Pakistan establishment is not going to change its mindset. It is unfortunate that even after the incidents of Peshawar, they are not going to change or giving any signal of changing their attitude or mindset it seems that they are still going by their previous tendencies,” BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi told.

“As far as our government is concerned, we have given full right and authority and orders to the security forces that they will give a befitting reply in whatever situation in whatever manner Pakistan will react,” he added.

Trivedi further stated that unless Islamabad changes its mindset with regards to terrorism, New Delhi will not be ready for peace talks.

“Immediately after Pakistan decided to have talks with the Hurriyat leaders and the ceasefireviolations, we stopped the peace talks. And we had given a statement that the intentions of Pakistan are not clear. Unless and until they change their mindset, there is no use of further dialogue,” he said.

On Monday, an almost unceasing barrage of shelling by Pakistan at the International Border in the Samba and Arnia districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The unprovoked and unceasing firing by the Islamic Republic led to thousands of villagers residing in those areas being evacuated. One Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was also killed in the barrage. (ANI)
