City police to be equipped with latest cameras

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police is going launch a new chapter of people’s friendly policy. It will not only be helpful for the police but also for the people. Traffic Police Officials in the city will now be seen with cameras with audio recorder fitted on their uniforms. It will record not only pictures but also voices.
This system of “Body Warn Camera” will soon be launched by the traffic police. City police has already finalized the tenders for this purpose. With the introduction of new system, it will be difficult for the traffic police to demand bribe. It will also be dangerous for the people who offer bribe constables. All the activities of traffic police officials will be recorded in these cameras with their voices.
As per section 12 of corruption act of 1988, there is a provision of 6 months to 5 years imprisonment besides imposing cash fines. Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr. Jitender told that all the arrangements have been made to launch the system of “Body Warn Camera”. In the first instance, these cameras would be fitted to the uniforms of sub-inspectors. Later, this system would be extended to other officials also.
