Six commit suicide in separate incidents in Hyderabad

Hyderabad Jan 28: In a spate of suicides in the city and suburbs in the last 24 hours, six persons ended their lives – three by setting themselves on fire and the rest by hanging.

Labourer T. Peerappa (45) set himself ablaze and died at his Narsingi home on Sunday, the police said on Monday. Police are trying to ascertain the reasons behind his suicide.

Sofia Begum (22), a housewife of Natarajnagar in Jhirrah, Tappachabutra, who set herself on fire five days ago, succumbed to her injuries at Osmania General Hospital on Sunday. She took the extreme step over a family dispute.

At Falaknuma, daily wager Salma Begum (45) ended her life by torching herself. She went into a depression after the death of her husband a few years ago. She doused herself in kerosene two days ago and set herself on fire and died at OGH on Sunday.

Driver Mohammed Khan (22) of Phoolbagh in Chandrayangutta hung himself to death at his house on Sunday night, police said on Monday. Family members told the police that Khan had gone into a depression after a quarrel with his wife over family matters.

At Chaitanyapuri, R. Anuradha (36) committed suicide by hanging herself. She was depressed after the death of her husband a few years ago. In another incident, housewife Saba (22) hung herself to death at her house in Pahadisharif on Sunday night, police said. Saba was married three years ago and had two children. The police are trying to find out the reasons behind her suicide.
