Hyderabad Jan 28:  Noting that certain political parties in the state have got land for housing their party offices at throwaway prices, the AP high court on Monday directed the state to furnish the copies of cabinet approvals and the consequent GOs to the court.

However, the bench comprising Chief JusticeKalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar exempted those parties which have got land on lease basis from the purview of the current litigation.

Though the petitioner, V Gopi Krishna, questioned the allotment of plot to the Congress office in Nellore district, the bench sought details of similar allotments by the state elsewhere.

PIL filed against CM’s pet project

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar of the AP high court on Monday admitted a petition that challenged the Rs.7,390 crore drinking water project granted to chief minster Kiran Kumar Reddy’s native district Chittoor.

Federation of Farmers Association, Nellore district branch, had moved the PIL seeking a direction to stay the chief minister’s pet project which envisages diverting water from the Kandaleru storage dam. The project was taken up by the Infrastructure Corporation of AP for providing water to Tirupati, Tirumala, Chittoor, Madanapalle, Palamaner and Punganur towns and other villages.
