Student’s death triggers protest

Warangal :  Tension prevailed at a private school following the death of a second class student here on Tuesday.

The seven-year-old child M. Mouna Sree of Balajyothi High School reportedly fell from the third floor of the school building in the morning hours in Kashibugga locality. She died instantaneously.

The child’s parents and local residents, who sought an explanation from the school authorities, went berserk when the management failed to come clear on the accident. The police reached the spot and tried to bring the agitated crowd under control.

The child’s parents Rani and Sudharshan alleged that their daughter was weak in Hindi and teachers of the school tortured her. They terrified the children by locking them up in dark room and fearing over punishment, the girl might have jumped off the building unable to face the Hindi teacher, they said

The school correspondent Chakrapani refused to talk to the media persons. Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police (Urban) A. Venkateshwara Rao said they would inquire into the incident if the child’s parents lodged a complaint with the police.
